Ariyan Bin M., 3

Ariyan Bin Masum is a 3-year-6-month-old boy from a financially disadvantaged family whose father, Masum Ahmed, is the sole earning member and works as a day laborer, earning approximately USD 41 per month. This limited income must support Ariyan, his mother, two elder brothers, and their extended family, leaving the family unable to afford the cost of surgery and medical care. Ariyan is an active young child who enjoys walking and playing, but the painful swelling in his right groin has increasingly affected his normal activities and comfort. He was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia, and without timely surgical repair, the hernia could become incarcerated or strangulated, potentially causing bowel obstruction, tissue damage, and a life-threatening emergency. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteers Tanjila Shahin Ema and Redwan, giving them hope of receiving the support needed for Ariyan’s treatment.

Herniotomy under general anesthesia is expected to permanently repair Ariyan’s right inguinal hernia, relieve the painful swelling, and allow him to return to normal walking, playing, and other daily activities after recovery. With timely surgery and appropriate follow-up, the prognosis is expected to be excellent. If left untreated, the hernia may become incarcerated or strangulated, cutting off the blood supply to the trapped tissue and potentially causing bowel obstruction, tissue damage, severe infection, and a life-threatening emergency.
