Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Sidratul Muntaha is a cheerful 5-year-old girl who loves wearing lipstick and dreams of becoming a doctor. She lives with her father, Sobuj Islam, a day labourer earning approximately USD 49 per month, her mother, Arju Akter, a housewife, and her 2-year-old sister, Zannat Khatun, in fragile housing without a permanent home. With such a limited income, the family struggles to meet their basic needs and cannot afford the medical expenses required for Sidratul’s treatment. They learned about Helpster Charity through a doctor and sought assistance after her condition worsened despite home care, with 15 days of persistent fever, earache, rash, vomiting, loss of appetite, loose stools, and fatigue; she was diagnosed with typhoid fever and acute suppurative otitis media (ASOM) at New Evercare Hospital and Diagnostic. Without timely treatment, her infection may worsen and lead to serious complications such as severe dehydration, systemic infection, and further deterioration of her overall condition.

Prognosis

According to the treating doctor, hospitalization with parenteral antibiotics and other supportive therapy is recommended to control the typhoid infection and ASOM and support the child’s recovery. With timely treatment, the fever and associated symptoms are expected to improve, helping restore her appetite, strength, and overall health. If left untreated, the infections may worsen and lead to severe systemic infection, dehydration, persistent ear infection, and other serious complications.
