Arshi Kabir is a 1-year-old girl from a financially disadvantaged family of four, living with her parents and elder sister in a house made of tarpaulin walls and roofing. Her father is the sole earning member and works as a daily wage laborer, but during the monsoon season, the shortage of work has reduced the family’s income to approximately USD 41 per month, making it difficult to afford proper medical care. Arshi, the youngest and much-loved child of the family, developed fever and cough followed by rapid and difficult breathing, reduced oral intake, and weakness, and was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia. Without timely treatment, her respiratory condition could worsen and lead to serious complications, especially with her reduced oral intake and weakness. Her father learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Ahammod Ali Azad, giving the family an opportunity to seek the medical support Arshi needs.

According to the treatment plan, hospitalization with antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and supportive care is expected to control Arshi’s community-acquired pneumonia, improve her breathing, reduce fever, and support adequate feeding and recovery. With timely treatment and close monitoring, she is expected to stabilize and gradually return to her normal activities. If left untreated, the lung infection may worsen, causing increasing respiratory distress, reduced oxygen levels, dehydration, or other serious complications that could become life-threatening.
