Rudro Das is an 8-month-old baby boy living with his parents, Nironjon Das and Krishna Das, in a modest tin-roofed house with a mud floor. His father is the sole earning member and works as a day labourer, earning only approximately USD 49 per month, which is barely enough to meet the family’s basic needs and leaves little to afford hospital treatment. Rudro developed fever, cough, and cold followed by worsening respiratory distress and was admitted to Seba Hospital with severe pneumonia, high fever, and abnormal breathing sounds in both lungs. Without timely treatment, his respiratory distress could rapidly worsen and lead to dangerously low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, and other life-threatening complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteers Tanjila Shahin Ema and Redwan, allowing Rudro to receive the urgent medical care he needed.

According to the doctor, hospitalization with antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and supportive care is expected to control the pneumonia, reduce fever and respiratory distress, and improve Rudro’s breathing and overall condition. With timely treatment and close monitoring, he is expected to recover and gradually return to normal feeding and activity. If left untreated, severe pneumonia may worsen rapidly, causing increasing respiratory distress, low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, and potentially life-threatening complications.
