Rubi Akter is a 19-year-old woman from an underprivileged family who lives with her husband, Mohammad Akash Biswas, her 55-year-old father-in-law, and 48-year-old mother-in-law in a small, suffocating rented tin-shed room. She previously worked in a garments factory and enjoys traveling, but her recent illness has prevented her from working, while her husband earns only about USD 80 (BDT 10,000) per month, which is insufficient to cover their household expenses and medical costs. Rubi suddenly developed difficulty swallowing for four days, followed by vomiting mixed with blood and chest pain, making her condition increasingly concerning. Without timely treatment, her condition could worsen and potentially lead to serious complications such as significant gastrointestinal bleeding, anemia, or other life-threatening complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through the medical outreach held near their home on 8 August 2026 and urgently needs support because they cannot afford the necessary hospitalization and treatment.

With hospitalization, intravenous proton pump inhibitor therapy, evaluation of the underlying cause, and appropriate treatment, Rubi Akter is expected to have improvement in her symptoms and healing of the ulcer. Timely management can reduce stomach pain and help prevent complications. If left untreated, peptic ulcer disease may worsen and can lead to complications such as gastrointestinal bleeding, severe pain, ulcer perforation, or anemia, which may require urgent medical care.
