Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Tania Akter is a 20-year-old calm and caring pregnant woman who hopes for a safe delivery and a healthy baby, but her current pregnancy requires close medical attention. Her husband, Shahabul Islam, is the sole earning member of their five-member family and works as a day laborer, earning only BDT 6,000 (about USD 49) per month, making it extremely difficult to afford hospitalization and ongoing medical expenses for Tania and the baby. She lives with her husband, 3-year-old daughter, and elderly parents-in-law in fragile housing without a permanent home, leaving the family particularly vulnerable to unexpected healthcare costs. Tania developed lower abdominal pain with per-vaginal watery discharge and was found to have a 27-week pregnancy with breech presentation, requiring hospital admission and close monitoring; if her condition worsens, continued fluid leakage may increase the risk of preterm labor and fetal distress, potentially threatening the health of both mother and baby. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a health worker, giving them hope of receiving the medical support needed during this critical pregnancy.

Prognosis

The doctor has recommended immediate hospital admission for Tania so that she can receive appropriate antibiotics, medications, and other supportive care. With timely treatment, her health condition is expected to improve, her weakness may decrease, and the safety of both the mother and baby can be better protected. However, if left untreated, her condition could lead to serious complications, including fetal distress, which may indicate inadequate oxygenation or compromised fetal well-being. Without urgent medical care, these complications could become life-threatening for both the mother and fetus.
