Sumaiya Akter is a cheerful and active 5-year-old girl who was previously well before developing high fever, severe cough, and runny nose for five days. She lives with her parents, younger sister, and grandmother in a five-member family, while her father, Sohel (35), is the sole earner, working as a rickshaw driver and earning approximately USD 65–73 per month. With this limited income, the family struggles to meet their basic household needs and cannot afford the cost of Sumaiya’s hospital treatment. She was taken to Saheda Gafur Ibrahim General Hospital, where clinical assessment and investigations led to a diagnosis of typhoid, and the family learned about the Helpster support program through the hospital team. Without timely treatment, typhoid may worsen and lead to severe dehydration, intestinal complications, bloodstream infection, and other potentially life-threatening complications.

Sumaiya Akter is a 05 years old child. Suddenly She got fever for many days with severe caugh. Her mother came to our hospital in 19th july 2026. Doctor diagnosed this case as typhoid fever. Doctor suggests to get admitted to hospital. Doctor and Nurses provide the baby proper treatment and affectionate care. As a result, Sumaiya Akter comes round from her illness and becomes heathy. On 25th July 2026, we discharged her. The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Charity and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

Doctors have advised treatment with parenteral antibiotics along with supportive therapy to effectively control Sumaiya’s typhoid infection. With timely and complete treatment, her fever will gradually subside, her strength will return, and she will be able to resume her studies and daily activities without long-term effects. Proper medical care will also prevent the infection from spreading and protect her vital organs. However, if left untreated, typhoid can lead to severe complications such as intestinal perforation, internal bleeding, bloodstream infection, and even become life-threatening. Early intervention is therefore essential to ensure her full recovery and safeguard her future health.
