Minha Jannath is a 10-month-old girl from a financially disadvantaged family of five living in a modest tin-roofed house. Her father is the sole earning member, working as an auto-rickshaw driver and earning approximately USD 49 per month, which is barely enough to meet the family’s basic needs and leaves them unable to afford her medical expenses. Previously a healthy and active child, Minha developed fever, cold, cough, and worsening respiratory distress before being admitted to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with severe pneumonia with suspected sub-intestinal obstruction. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a local community member and sought support because they could not manage the cost of her urgent treatment. Without timely medical care, her breathing difficulty and abdominal condition could worsen and lead to serious or life-threatening complications.

According to the treatment plan, hospitalization with antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and supportive care is expected to control the severe pneumonia, improve Minha’s breathing, reduce fever, and support recovery. Evaluation and appropriate management of her abdominal fullness will help identify and address the suspected sub-intestinal obstruction while she remains under close monitoring. With timely treatment, she is expected to stabilize and gradually return to normal activity. If left untreated, severe pneumonia may worsen respiratory distress and low oxygen levels, while the abdominal condition could progress and cause serious complications.
