Md. Bijoy is a 13-year-old Class 7 student who enjoys playing and wants to continue his education despite his family’s difficult circumstances. He lives with his mother, Banesa Begum, and 3-year-old younger brother, Bayezid, in a small tin-shade house, while his mother is the sole earner, working at a brick field and earning about USD 49.59 per month. After being injured while playing, Bijoy developed pain and swelling in his left ankle and was diagnosed with a distal left tibial physeal fracture, which currently makes walking and attending school difficult. With such limited income, his mother cannot afford the necessary treatment and follow-up care, and the family learned about Helpster Charity through a staff member of Life Care Hospital. Without timely treatment, the fracture may heal improperly and affect bone growth, causing persistent pain, limited movement, or long-term difficulty walking.

Conservative orthopedic management with pain medication, Below-Knee Back Slab Plaster Cast immobilization, supportive care, and regular clinical monitoring is expected to reduce Bijoy’s pain and swelling and support proper fracture healing. With adequate rest, proper plaster care, and follow-up evaluation, gradual recovery and improvement in mobility are expected. If left untreated or poorly managed, the fracture may heal improperly, resulting in persistent pain, impaired movement, and possible long-term problems with walking and daily activities.
