Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Magribul Islam is a 26-day-old newborn who developed fever, chills, cough, wheezing, chest indrawing, and low oxygen levels for seven days, with his condition worsening despite home care, and was diagnosed with acute bronchiolitis at New Evercare Hospital. His father, Rashedul Islam (27), works as a day labourer and earns approximately BDT 6,000 (around USD 49) per month, while his mother, Momina Begum (18), is a housewife and his 18-month-old brother is also dependent on the family. The family has no permanent home and lives in fragile conditions, making it difficult to meet basic needs and afford Magribul’s hospital treatment. The family learned about Helpster Charity through medical staff and sought assistance for his treatment. Without timely treatment, acute bronchiolitis in such a young infant can rapidly worsen, causing severe respiratory distress, respiratory failure, and potentially life-threatening oxygen deprivation.

Prognosis

The doctor has recommended immediate hospital admission for Magribul so that he can receive appropriate antibiotics, medications, nebulization, and other supportive care. With timely treatment, his breathing difficulties are expected to improve, his physical condition will become better, and he will have a strong chance of making a good recovery. Supportive therapy will help his body regain strength and prevent further complications. However, if left untreated, acute bronchiolitis may lead to serious complications such as acute respiratory failure, atelectasis, hypoxia, secondary bacterial infections, bronchiolitis obliterans, and recurrent wheezing. Without urgent medical care, this condition could become life-threatening for such a young child.
