Anita R., 24

Anita is a 24-year-old cheerful and hopeful mother expecting her second child with her first daughter, a 7-year-old Class 1 student, eagerly awaiting her new sibling. Her husband, Bilash, is the sole earning member of their five-member family and works as a day laborer, earning only approximately USD 49 per month, while Anita’s elderly parents-in-law also depend on the family’s limited income. Ultrasound revealed that the fetus is in an oblique presentation, making vaginal delivery difficult and increasing the need for careful obstetric management near term. Because the family cannot afford the cost of a Caesarean section, they sought support through Helpster Charity volunteer Sadika Rahman; without appropriate delivery management, complications could develop during labor and place both mother and baby at serious risk.

The patient, Anita Rani was admitted to City Clinic on 14th August 2026. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy 3.1 kg male baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 18th August 2026 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.

LUCS (Lower Uterine Cesarean Section) is expected to provide a safer and more controlled method of delivery for Anita and her baby because of the persistent oblique fetal presentation near term. Timely surgical delivery can reduce the risk of difficult or obstructed labor and help protect both maternal and fetal well-being. If appropriate delivery management is delayed, the abnormal fetal position may result in complications during labor, including fetal distress, birth-related complications, and serious maternal complications. Timely intervention therefore offers the best opportunity for a safe delivery and healthy outcome for both mother and baby.
