Mahfuzur Rahman is a 2-month-old baby boy who became seriously ill after developing fever, cough, and cold, followed by breathing difficulty and excessive crying. He lives with his parents, elder brother, and elder sister in a four-member family, while his father, Mostak Ahmed (30), is the sole earning member and works as a day laborer, earning only about USD 29 per month. With such limited income, the family struggles to meet basic household needs and cannot afford the cost of Mahfuzur’s urgent treatment. He was admitted to Seba Hospital on 21 August 2026 and diagnosed with severe pneumonia, with low oxygen saturation and abnormal lung findings; without timely treatment, his breathing could worsen and become life-threatening. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a relative.

According to the treating doctors, hospitalization with appropriate antibiotics, nebulization, and supportive therapy is recommended to manage Mahfuzur’s severe pneumonia. With timely treatment and close monitoring, his breathing difficulties and infection are expected to improve, supporting a safe recovery. If left untreated, severe pneumonia may worsen rapidly and lead to dangerously low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, or other life-threatening complications. As Mahfuzur is only two months old, prompt treatment is especially important to prevent complications and support his recovery.
