Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Sweety Akter is an 18-year-old woman who is 37 weeks pregnant and requires urgent medical care for her and her baby. She lives with her mother and husband in a three-member household, but her mother, Parbin Akter, is the sole regular earner, working as a housemaid and earning only about USD 41 per month, while her husband provides little regular support. Sweety presented with lower abdominal pain and per-vaginal discharge and was diagnosed with PROM and breech presentation, for which an emergency LUCS was advised. Due to the family’s fragile living conditions and limited income, they cannot afford the cost of the required treatment and learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Masud Rana. Without timely delivery, PROM and breech presentation may increase the risk of complications for both Sweety and her baby.

Prognosis

LUCS (Lower Uterine Cesarean Section) is expected to provide a timely and controlled delivery for Sweety and her baby given the breech presentation, labor pain, and PROM. With timely surgery and appropriate postoperative monitoring, the mother and baby are expected to recover well. If delivery is delayed, PROM may increase the risk of infection, while breech presentation during labor may increase the risk of fetal distress, difficult delivery, and other complications for both mother and baby.
