Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Mahbuba Jannath Maya is a cheerful and caring 7-year-old Class One student who enjoys learning and spending time with her family. She lives with her parents and younger brother in a three-member family household under very difficult conditions, in a home covered with polythene sheets. Her father, Mamun Ahmed (24), works as a snake catcher and earns approximately USD 65 per month, which is insufficient to meet the family’s basic needs and Maya’s medical expenses. Maya developed fever for seven days followed by cold, cough, runny nose, body aches, and severe respiratory distress and was admitted to Seba Hospital, where she was diagnosed with severe pneumonia with measles; the family learned about Helpster Charity through hospital staff and then contacted a volunteer. Without timely treatment, her severe pneumonia and low oxygen level may worsen rapidly, leading to respiratory failure, severe infection, and potentially life-threatening complications.

Prognosis

According to the treating doctors, hospitalization, close monitoring, isolation, and conservative and supportive therapy are recommended to manage Mahbuba Jannat Maya’s severe pneumonia with measles. With timely treatment and appropriate monitoring, her respiratory distress, low oxygen saturation, and infection are expected to improve, supporting a safe recovery. If left untreated, severe pneumonia may worsen, leading to increasing respiratory distress, dangerously low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, and other serious complications. Measles may also cause additional complications, including worsening pneumonia, making timely hospital-based treatment essential for Mahbuba’s recovery and survival.
