Mahim Ahmed is a cheerful and active 3-year-old boy who was injured in an accidental fall while playing near his home. He lives with his parents, elder sister, and grandparents in a six-member family, while his father, Tahirul Islam (39), is the sole earner, working as an agricultural day laborer and earning only about USD 57 per month. With this limited income and their difficult living conditions in a small tin-shade house with a mud floor, the family struggles to meet daily needs and cannot afford Mahim’s medical treatment. After the accident, Mahim developed pain and swelling in his right forearm and was diagnosed with a closed fracture of both the radius and ulna, and the family learned about Helpster Charity through a staff member of Life Care Hospital. Without timely treatment and proper fracture management, the bones may heal improperly, resulting in persistent pain, restricted arm movement, deformity, and long-term functional problems.

With proper orthopedic treatment, pain management, immobilization, and supportive care, Mahim’s fractured right radius and ulna can heal gradually, allowing him to regain normal movement and use of his affected arm. Adequate treatment and regular follow-up care will help reduce pain, promote proper bone healing, and prevent complications. With close monitoring, proper immobilization, and sufficient rest, the chances of a full recovery are very high. However, if left untreated or improperly managed, the fractures may heal incorrectly, leading to prolonged pain, restricted arm movement, bone deformity, or long-term functional problems that could affect Mahim’s normal activities and development.
