Avijit Barmon is a 1-year-old child who lives with his parents and 6-year-old brother in a four-member family. His father, Nilkanto Barmon, is the sole earner and works as a day laborer, earning only about USD 41 per month, making it difficult to cover both household needs and Avijit’s medical expenses. Avijit developed high-grade fever, cough, and cold, followed by vomiting, poor feeding, and lethargy, and was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. The patient’s family learned about Helpster Charity through Sadika Rahman, a Helpster volunteer, and sought support for his treatment. Without timely treatment, his pneumonia may worsen and lead to breathing difficulties, low oxygen levels, severe infection, and other serious complications.

Avijit Barmon is a 1-year-old child, had been battling recurrent respiratory tract infections for the past two days(from birth), but this time, his condition worsened as he developed pneumonia. In desperate need of emergency hospitalization, he received critical care at City Clinic, including oxygen therapy, nebulization with sulbutamol, ipratropium bromide, budesonide, and injectable antibiotics, along with hydrocortisone due to the seriousness of his condition.Avijit was admitted on 04/09/26, received treatment, and was discharged from the hospital on 09/09/26. Now, after receiving the care he needed,Avijit is doing well and has returned home, bringing joy back to his family. Pediatric care with IV antibiotics (amikacin and ceftriaxone), hydration, oxygen therapy as needed, fever management, supportive treatment, and close monitoring is expected to control Avijit’s pneumonia and improve his overall condition. With timely treatment and appropriate monitoring, he is expected to recover and return to normal feeding and activities. If left untreated, pneumonia may worsen, causing respiratory distress, low oxygen levels, severe infection, and other potentially life-threatening complications.
