Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Victoria is a bright 17-year-old secondary school student who aspires to become a writer. Despite experiencing bullying at school, she remains resolute in pursuing her ambitions. Her mother first observed a small soft tissue growth on Victoria's neck during her childhood. Initial treatment with traditional medicine was attempted, however, the growth persisted. When Victoria was 13, her mother sought treatment through a hospital program, but Victoria's age rendered her ineligible. They subsequently visited a local government hospital, where the required diagnostic tests alone amounted to ₦204,000, a cost the family could not afford. Upon learning of Helpster through their church, her mother resolved to seek assistance for Victoria's treatment. Upon presentation at Fajip, Victoria was evaluated and examined. A soft tissue mass was identified on the left lateral aspect of her neck. A definitive diagnosis is pending further imaging and biopsy results.

Prognosis

Victoria presents with a slow-growing soft tissue mass on her neck for 10 years, gradually increasing in size with localized pain and itching. Persistent neck growths pose risks of further expansion, progressive discomfort, and compression of surrounding vital structures. Diagnostic evaluation and surgical excision are required as it directly affects quality of life and carries a risk of malignancy (cancer). The prognosis following surgical intervention (excision) is very favorable. Prompt removal will alleviate pain and itching, prevent compression, eliminate discomfort, and markedly improve overall quality of life while mitigating future risks.
