Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Mohammad Habib is a responsible 16-year-old Class 8 student who lives with his parents and sister in a four-member family. His father is the sole earner, working as a furniture carpenter and earning approximately USD 65 per month, which is insufficient to meet the family’s basic needs and Habib’s medical expenses. Habib developed lower abdominal pain with vomiting and low-grade fever and was taken to Narayanganj Poly Clinic General Hospital, where clinical assessment and investigations confirmed acute appendicitis. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Masud Rana and is seeking support because their limited income makes it difficult to afford the required treatment. Without timely treatment, the inflamed appendix may rupture and cause severe abdominal infection, peritonitis, sepsis, and potentially life-threatening complications.

Prognosis

Appendicectomy under spinal anesthesia is expected to remove the inflamed appendix, relieve Habib’s abdominal pain, prevent further infection, and allow him to return to his normal daily activities after recovery. With timely surgery, appropriate antibiotics, and postoperative care, the prognosis is generally very good, and most patients recover without long-term complications. However, if acute appendicitis is left untreated, the appendix may rupture within a short period, causing peritonitis, intra-abdominal abscess formation, severe sepsis, and widespread infection throughout the body. These complications can become life-threatening and may require intensive care, prolonged hospitalization, and more complex surgical treatment.
