Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Md. Huzaifa Jamil is a 13-year-old boy from Balisita village, Mymensingh, who enjoys playing sports and dreams of becoming a doctor so he can help others, but he has been struggling with chronic breathlessness, poor growth, and frequent chest infections due to Tetralogy of Fallot. His father, Md. Abdul Sattar, is a teacher and the sole provider, earning approximately USD 74 per month, while his mother, Mst. Taslima Akter, is a homemaker; the family also includes Huzaifa’s elderly 80-year-old grandfather and his two school-going brothers, Huwaib and Moyaj. With only one modest income supporting five family members, the family struggles to meet daily expenses and cannot afford the specialized medical treatment Huzaifa requires. They learned about Helpster Charity through his uncle, Tazul Islam, and sought support for his treatment. Without timely treatment, the congenital heart defect may continue to place strain on his heart and lungs, worsening his breathing difficulties, recurrent chest infections, poor growth, and potentially leading to serious cardiac and respiratory complications.

Prognosis

According to the treating cardiac team, hospitalization, medical optimization, and intracardiac repair surgery are recommended to correct the Tetralogy of Fallot and improve the patient’s heart and lung function. Timely treatment may improve her breathing, reduce recurrent respiratory infections, and support better growth and physical activity. If left untreated, the congenital heart defect may continue to place significant strain on the heart and lungs, worsening breathlessness, poor growth, and recurrent infections. Over time, it may lead to serious cardiac and respiratory complications and significantly affect her quality of life.
