Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Mahfuzur Rahman is a 3-month-old baby who was admitted to Seba Hospital with high-grade fever, cough, severe respiratory distress, body rash, and excessive crying and was diagnosed with measles with severe pneumonia. His father, Mostak Ahmed (30), works as a day labourer and earns approximately USD 41 per month, while his mother, Ruksana Begum (25), is a housewife. The family’s limited income makes it difficult to afford Mahfuzur’s hospitalization and treatment. They learned about Helpster Charity through a relative. Without timely treatment, measles with severe pneumonia may worsen rapidly, leading to respiratory failure, severe infection, and other potentially life-threatening complications.

Prognosis

According to the treating doctors, hospitalization with isolation, parenteral antibiotics, nebulization, and other supportive therapy is recommended to manage Mahfuzur Rohman’s measles with severe pneumonia. With timely treatment and close monitoring, his respiratory distress and infection are expected to improve, helping him recover safely. If left untreated, severe pneumonia may progress to worsening respiratory distress, dangerously low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, and other serious complications. Measles may also lead to further complications, making timely hospital-based treatment essential for Mahfuzur’s recovery and survival.
