Mohammad Abdullah is a 13-day-old newborn who developed fever, cough, cold, and breathing difficulty and was diagnosed with late-onset neonatal sepsis with severe pneumonia. His father, Tusar Uddin (36), works as a garment worker and earns approximately BDT 8,000 (around USD 65) per month, while his mother, Moyna Begum (32), is a homemaker and the family depends on this limited income. With several family members to support, the family cannot afford the hospitalization, investigations, antibiotics, and intensive monitoring required for their newborn. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Masud Rana and sought assistance for his treatment. Without urgent treatment, neonatal sepsis and severe pneumonia can rapidly progress to respiratory failure, septic shock, organ damage, and potentially death.

According to the treating doctor, hospitalization, adequate hydration, appropriate antibiotics, and other supportive treatment are recommended to control the infection and support the newborn’s recovery. With timely treatment and close monitoring, the infection and pneumonia are expected to improve, helping stabilize his breathing and overall condition. If left untreated, neonatal sepsis with severe pneumonia can progress rapidly to respiratory failure, septic shock, organ dysfunction, and potentially death. Prompt treatment is therefore essential for his survival and recovery.
