Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Baby of Ayesha Begum is a newborn who developed respiratory distress shortly after delivery and was diagnosed with congenital pneumonia with congenital heart disease (CHD), requiring intensive care in the NICU. His father, Md. Harun-or-Rashid, 42, runs a small tea stall and earns approximately USD 82–98 per month, while his mother, Ayesha Begum, 35, works as a housemaid but currently has no income and cannot return to work while caring for the newborn. The family of six also includes their 19-year-old son, who has developmental challenges, and two school-aged daughters, leaving the family unable to manage the high cost of the baby’s ongoing hospital treatment. They learned about Helpster Charity through Romjan Ali and volunteer ABM Alamgir and sought support for the baby’s urgent medical care. Without continued treatment and close NICU monitoring, the baby’s respiratory condition and congenital heart problem could worsen, leading to severe oxygen deficiency, respiratory failure, and other potentially life-threatening complications.

Prognosis

According to the treating doctor, the newborn requires continued NICU care, oxygen support, IV fluids, appropriate injectable antibiotics, and close monitoring for congenital pneumonia with congenital heart disease. With timely and continuous treatment, respiratory distress and infection can be controlled, oxygenation can be supported, and the baby’s condition can gradually stabilize. If treatment and NICU monitoring are not continued, the pneumonia and underlying heart condition may worsen, causing severe oxygen deficiency, respiratory failure, and other serious complications. Continued specialized neonatal care is therefore important for the baby’s stabilization and recovery.
