Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Basit is an 11-year-old junior secondary school student who enjoys Mathematics and dreams of becoming a mechanic because he loves cars. He has lived with swelling on the left side of his scrotum since he was about four years old, when his mother first noticed it. The swelling has continued to increase over the years and has made him feel shy about his appearance. He rarely plays with his friends because of his condition. Basit lives with his parents and two siblings, while his mother works hard to support the family through her roadside food business and additional work smoking fish at a bush market. Upon presentation at our facility, he was evaluated and diagnosed with Right Hydrocele. He requires corrective Hydrocelectomy surgery upon Helpster's approval.

Prognosis

Basit presented with a large, persistent hydrocele causing chronic localized pain and physical discomfort that necessitates surgical intervention via an elective inguinal repair to close the underlying patent pathway. If left unmanaged, the continuous mechanical pressure from this large fluid mass will exacerbate the tissue tension and pain, while the persistent defect leaves the child at high risk for a secondary inguinal hernia that could progress to dangerous bowel entrapment. The prognosis is good if the condition is attended to promptly. However, delaying treatment may cause the condition to worsen and increase in size, potentially leading to serious, life-threatening complications. Early medical intervention is therefore strongly recommended.
