Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Olympus Hospital (Pvt.) Ltd43/R/4, West Panthapath, Tehgaon, Dhaka, PO: 1215Hospital contacts
Background

The patient is a 13-year-old Class 6 student who loves playing football and dreams of becoming a doctor, but his long-standing kidney condition has disrupted his childhood and daily activities. He lives with his parents and two younger siblings in a five-member family supported by his father, a day labourer earning approximately USD 82 per month, while his mother manages the household and cares for the children. After experiencing whole-body swelling for a month, reduced urine output, and fever for three days, he was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with infrequently relapsing nephrotic syndrome, requiring treatment and monitoring of his kidney function. The family cannot afford the hospital expenses on their limited income and learned about Helpster Charity through a community representative and a local chairman. Without appropriate treatment, he may develop worsening swelling, serious infections, blood clots, or impaired kidney function, threatening his health and future education.

Prognosis

According to the treatment plan, conservative management, regular monitoring, appropriate investigations, and supportive care are necessary to manage the child’s infrequently relapsing nephrotic syndrome. With proper follow-up, swelling and other symptoms may improve, while monitoring helps assess kidney function and detect complications early. Without appropriate care, the condition may worsen, leading to persistent swelling, severe infections, blood clots, and potentially impaired kidney function. Continued medical supervision is essential to manage relapses, reduce complications, and support the child’s health and daily activities
