Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Hunpe is a 12-year-old boy from an indigent family from the Makoko slums living on about 30$ per month for the whole household. He was healthy until two years ago, when he fell severely ill with persistent high-grade fevers, a chronic cough, and progressive weight loss. When his parents initially sought medical help, healthcare providers suspected malaria and typhoid fever. Unable to afford proper diagnostic tests or specialized care due to extreme financial hardship, his family managed his condition at home with repeated courses of antimalarials and antibiotics. Despite remaining non-emaciated, his illness steadily worsened as the underlying severe bronchopneumonia and thyrotoxicosis went undetected and untreated for two full years. Hunpe was discovered during Helpster medical outreach in critically ill condition, urgently requires comprehensive inpatient stabilization, specialized medical therapy, and financial support to restore his health.

Prognosis

Hunpe has bronchopneumonia complicated by thyrotoxicosis & severe malnutrition. Immediate hospitalization is required to stabilize his condition with intravenous antibiotics, oxygen support, and antithyroid therapy. With proper medical management for his thyroid condition and treatment for his lung infection, he will be optimized for surgery, after which his long-term prognosis can be significantly improved. This life saving interventions will allow him to recover and return to a normal, healthy childhood
