Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

The patient is a 10-year-old boy studying in Grade 4 who lives with his parents, brother, and elderly grandparents. His father works as a mason and earns approximately USD 90–98 per month as the family's sole breadwinner, making it difficult to cover household expenses, support the family, and afford medical treatment. After being previously well, the boy developed high fever, severe body aches, and cough lasting ten days, prompting his mother to seek medical care at Saheda Gafur Ibrahim General Hospital, where he was diagnosed with typhoid fever. The family cannot afford the necessary treatment on their limited income and requires financial assistance through Helpster Charity. Without timely treatment, typhoid fever may lead to intestinal bleeding, intestinal perforation, severe infection, and potentially life-threatening complications.

Prognosis

Doctors have advised treatment with parenteral antibiotics along with supportive therapy to effectively control Md. Saiyem’s typhoid infection. With timely and complete treatment, his fever will gradually subside, his strength will return, and He will be able to resume his studies and daily activities without long-term effects. Proper medical care will also prevent the infection from spreading and protect his vital organs. However, if left untreated, typhoid can lead to severe complications such as intestinal perforation, internal bleeding, bloodstream infection, and even become life-threatening. Early intervention is therefore essential to ensure his full recovery and safeguard his future health.
