Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Trevis is a cheerful, active and friendly nine-month-old baby who lives with his mother in a rural village. His mother relies on casual labour, earning a small and irregular income that is insufficient to meet the family’s basic needs and medical expenses. Trevis's mother brought him to the facility with diarrhoea, persistent vomiting, high fever, refusal to feed and excessive crying. Following clinical examination and laboratory investigations, Trevis was diagnosed with severe dehydration, anaemia and septicaemia, a serious infection affecting the bloodstream. He was admitted for treatment, further investigations and close monitoring.

Prognosis

Trevis, a nine-month-old baby, is suffering from severe dehydration, septicemia (a serious bloodstream infection) and anaemia. These conditions are life-threatening and require urgent hospital treatment, including intravenous fluids, appropriate antibiotics, and other supportive care as needed. With prompt and effective treatment, Trevis has good prognosis.
