Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

The 5-year-old girl was previously playful and active and lives with her parents, 17-year-old uncle, and grandparents in a six-member household. Her father works as a day labourer, earning approximately USD 73 per month, which is insufficient to cover the family's daily needs and additional medical expenses. She developed fever, cough, a runny nose, rapid breathing, chest indrawing, and shortness of breath over five days and was admitted to Saheda Gafur Ibrahim General Hospital with pneumonia. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a volunteer but struggles to afford hospital treatment on their limited income. Without timely treatment, pneumonia could worsen, causing severe breathing difficulties, dangerously low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, and potentially life-threatening complications.

Prognosis

Doctors have explained that treatment with parenteral antibiotics and supportive care is essential to control the infection and stabilize Tasmia Akter’s breathing. With timely and complete treatment, he is expected to recover fully, regain his strength, and continue his normal growth and development without long-term complications. Proper medical care will also prevent the infection from spreading to other parts of his body. However, if left untreated, pneumonia could rapidly worsen, leading to severe respiratory failure, bloodstream infection, or other life-threatening complications. Early intervention is therefore critical to protect his life and ensure a healthy future.
