The child is a cheerful and playful three-year-old girl raised by her single mother alongside two older siblings. She enjoys arranging toys on the floor, playing outdoors with other children, and learning about animals. The family faces severe financial hardship. Her siblings are currently out of school because their mother cannot afford school fees. They live in a rented house without electricity, and after falling behind on rent, they temporarily stayed with a neighbour who was also struggling financially. The child suddenly developed a high fever, severe sore throat, painful swallowing, swollen tonsils, and poor feeding, making it difficult for her to eat or drink. Concerned about her worsening condition, her mother walked approximately three kilometres to the hospital. On arrival, she was unable to pay the consultation fee and waited for about two hours while seeking assistance. The hospital social worker assessed the family's circumstances and referred them to Helpster Charity for medical support. Clinical examination confirmed acute suppurative tonsillopharyngitis, and appropriate treatment was started.

Fidelis has been diagnosed with acute tonsillopharyngitis, a serious bacterial throat infection requiring prompt treatment. She is receiving appropriate antibiotics, pain relief, fluids, and supportive care. With early diagnosis and completion of treatment, her prognosis is excellent, and she is expected to make a full recovery without lasting complications. However, delayed or inadequate treatment could lead to dehydration, airway obstruction, abscess formation, spread of infection, rheumatic fever, kidney complications, or other life-threatening conditions.
