Helpster Charity, in collaboration with New Evercare Hospital & Diagnostic Centre, carried out a transformative medical outreach programme on October 11, 2025, in Saidpur, a densely populated town harbouring over 40,000 people in northern Bangladesh. The outreach took place at Bangla School Field, targeting impoverished and displaced families, including those in 22 camps and railway colony areas with little to no access to essential healthcare.
This initiative aimed to address widespread gaps in medical services, particularly in a region where the only available government hospital lacks sufficient capacity, essential medicines and healthcare personnel. The outreach provided free medical care for various conditions, preventive services and health education to those most in need, bridging a critical gap for families who cannot afford private treatment or travel to larger cities.

During the outreach: A total of 1,056 patients were registered. The gender breakdown showed 67% female (704 women) and 33% male (352 men) participation, which highlights Helpster's vital role in reaching underserved women in the community.
Following screening and assessment, 59 patients (about 6% of all beneficiaries) met the Helpster criteria for follow-up care and support, and they were referred for hospital admission. These included individuals with critical conditions such as tumors, hernias, hydroceles and advanced nasal polyps, alongside those with chronic or preventable issues like haemorrhoids, cataracts and appendicitis. Notably, pregnancy-related care accounted for over half (53%) of the qualifying cases, emphasising the importance of maternal health services in the region.

The outreach also featured: three medical camp visits by Helpster volunteers; and four control visits to previously treated patients, conducted by Helpster Country Manager and team, to ensure continuity of care and monitor patient recovery.
Helpster's impact in Saidpur extends beyond treatment. It fosters long-term community resilience. By partnering with local hospitals and engaging volunteers, the outreach improved not just physical health but community trust and awareness.

Helpster Country Manager in Bangladesh, Dr. Md. Shahidullah, noted: "In places like Saidpur, where medical care is often inaccessible, our mission is clear: to reach the forgotten and restore dignity through health. The turnout, especially from women and young adults, shows the deep need for healthcare and hope. We are grateful to our partner, New Evercare Hospital & Diagnostic Centre, our volunteers and everyone who contributed to the success of the programme. We're proud to walk alongside these communities on their journey towards wellness."
