Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

Nancy is a hardworking girl in junior secondary school. She enjoys dancing, reading storybooks, and watching her favorite television programs. She is always willing to help her mother with household chores. Nancy suffers from sickle cell disease and needs to be on constant medication and regular follow-up. She came to the hospital with a dry, irritating cough that she has had for the past three days. The cough is accompanied by chest pains and has been worsening over these three days.

Nancy suffers from sickle cell disease and needs to be on constant medication and regular follow-up. She came to the hospital with a dry, irritating cough that she has had for the past three days. The cough was accompanied by chest pains and has been worsening over these three days. No medication had been taken prior to coming to the hospital. An impression of severe pneumonia with sickle cell mas made after careful assessment together with laboratory tests. She was put on medication and had to be in the hospital for 1 week. On the 7th day, there had been a good improvement and she was discharged to go home.
Outcome
Sickle cell disease can lead to various complications, including severe pain crises, anemia, organ damage, and increased susceptibility to infections. Without proper management and treatment, it can result in life-threatening conditions such as stroke, acute chest syndrome, and organ failure.
