Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

Background
Mary is a 3-month old girl who has been having swelling of the umbilical region since a few days after the umbilical cord fell off. The mother is worried because the umbilicus is growing bigger day by day. Mary's mother is a housewife who is not getting any income. Mary's father is a fisherman, and the father's income is not enough to pay medical bills, nor to feed the family.
Medical history
Mary was admitted with Umbilical Hernia. The surgery was conducted successfully, with no complications. The patient was discharged.
Outcome
Without intervention, the hernia may continue to grow in size, causing increased discomfort, pain, and a noticeable bulge at the umbilicus. In severe cases, the protruding tissue can become trapped or strangulated, which is a medical emergency. Strangulation occurs when the blood supply to the herniated tissue is compromised, leading to severe pain, nausea, vomiting, and possible tissue damage or necrosis. Prompt surgical repair is typically recommended for umbilical hernias to prevent these complications and ensure the safety and well-being of the affected individual.
