Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Mustapha is a 1year old boy who loves to move around and play with toys. 2 days ago he was rushed to the hospital on account of a domestic accident that happened while he was playing. Hot boiling water poured over his left leg and caused severe burns, pains and swelling. The child was not kept at home and was being treated with traditional medicine which infected the burns wound causing sepsis. Currently, the wound is discharging pus.
Medical history
Mustapha suffered septic burns on his left leg, just below the knee. He was admitted for treatment on November 23 and discharged on November 24, 2023. Fortunately, he is now doing well, with all burns from the hot water fully healed. Mustapha can now freely play with his toys and interact with other children.
Outcome
Septic burn can be treated via debridement, daily wound dressing with antibiotics, analgesics and vitamins. However,if left untreated, septic burn could lead to destruction of tissues, anaemia, gangrene and virtually amputation of the affected leg.
