Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Rukkayya is a 4 years old girl from a poor home, who is active and loves playing with toys. She wants to become a nurse when she grows up. About 3 months ago, she developed an umbilical swelling, currently experiences pains and vomiting when the umbilical hernia gets obstructed.
Medical history
Rukkayya was diagnosed with a symptomatic umbilical hernia at our facility. Surgery was performed successfully on December 17, 2023, without any complications, and she was discharged home on December 20, 2023. Since then, Rukkayya has happily resumed playing with her friends and toys.
Outcome
Without intervention, the hernia may continue to grow in size, causing increased discomfort, pain, and a noticeable bulge at the umbilicus. In severe cases, the protruding tissue can become trapped or strangulated, which is a medical emergency. Strangulation occurs when the blood supply to the herniated tissue is compromised, leading to severe pain, nausea, vomiting, and possible tissue damage or necrosis. Prompt surgical repair is typically recommended for umbilical hernias to prevent these complications and ensure the safety and well-being of the affected individual.
