Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Joseph is a 2 months old boy of a single mother, who is also a student. The mother is also a known sickled cell patient. The child was admitted at the Federal Medical Center Bida, with symptoms of fever, cough, and fast breathing. He was diagnosed with severe Pneumonia with Congestive Cardiac Failure.
Medical history
The child was placed on intranasal oxygen 1-2Ltr/min, I.V. Ceftriaxone and I.V. Furosemide. Lab. investigations too were run on the baby, FBC + Differencial and Blood Culture. Chest x-ray and Echocardiogram were done. The patient got better and was discharged home. But still attending follow up clinic.
Outcome
Pneumonia develops when the defensive mechanisms within the lung become overwhelmed by a pathogen which has been either inhaled or aspirated. It is associated with a high mortality rate and significant morbidity. Severe pneumonia is frequently a multisystem disease and patients will often present with multiple organ failure.
