Background
Eunice is a 5-year-old girl who enjoys singing and wants to be a pilot someday. Her mom says that three days ago, Eunice started feeling weak all over, was vomiting, and had a cough.
Medical history
Eunice's mother noticed that three days prior to their hospital visit, Eunice was experiencing symptoms of general body weakness, vomiting, and coughing. Upon arrival at the facility, Eunice underwent a physical examination, followed by laboratory investigations to aid in diagnosis. During her hospital stay, she received appropriate medication. Fortunately, Eunice responded positively to the treatment regimen.
Outcome
Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences.
