Elijah O., 15

Elijah is a 15 year old boy who likes playing football. He would want to become and great goalkeeper in the coming years in a well know Kenyan football club or even an international club. He enjoys watching soccer matches in his free time. Three days ago he developed a fever, and headache; and this prompted the mother to bring him to the hospital.

Three days prior to his hospital visit, Elijah began experiencing symptoms of fever and headache. By the time he arrived at the hospital, his condition had deteriorated to the point where he was unable to attend school. Upon admission, he received medication, which led to a noticeable improvement in his condition. Elijah responded positively to the treatment and continued to do well. Three days after being discharged from the hospital, Elijah returned for a follow-up visit, during which it was confirmed that he had fully recovered and was in good health.

Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences.
