Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Maryam is a happy 9-year-old girl from a family with not much money. She enjoys playing with her friends and dreams of being a lawyer one day. Recently, she started feeling pain in her stomach and the lower right side of her abdomen. This pain came after she had been vomiting, had a fever, and diarrhea for about 11 days. This morning, her pain got even worse, so she was brought to this medical center for treatment.

Medical history

Maryam was admitted and evaluated for emergency surgery due to a ruptured appendix. The surgery was successfully conducted on December 28, 2023, and she was discharged on January 4, 2024, after receiving treatment.

Outcome

If appendicitis is not treated, it can lead to serious complications, the most severe being a ruptured appendix. When the appendix ruptures, it releases bacteria into the abdomen, potentially leading to a serious infection called peritonitis, which can be life-threatening. An abscess, which is a pocket of infection, may also form.Treatment for appendicitis usually involves surgery to remove the appendix, a procedure known as an appendectomy.
