Background
Kevin, who is 5 years old, dreams of becoming a bank manager one day. He wants to give people money so they can use it for what they want and then give it back later. But recently, he hasn't been feeling well. For the past 3 days, he's had a fever, headache, and hasn't wanted to eat. On the day he was taken to the hospital, he had a seizure.
Medical history
For 3 days prior to coming to hospital, he was having a fever, headache, and wasn't wanted to eat. On the day he was taken to the hospital, he had convulsed and was admitted for inpatient care; he had been diagnosed with severe malaria with febrile convulsions which if not treated urgently, can be fatal
Outcome
Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences.
