Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

Background
Prince, a one-year-old boy, resides with his mother. His mother reports that Prince has been experiencing recurrent fever for the past week, along with frequent vomiting and loose stools. Upon admission to the hospital, he was diagnosed with Protein Energy Malnutrition.
Medical history
Prince was diagnosed with sepsis, anaemia and protein energy malnutrition. Since the anaemia was not severe, he was given haematinics for the same. He was put on antibiotics for the pneumonia and put on a nutritional diet to curb the protein energy malnutrition. Prince's mother was also given nutritional counsel to avoid the child developing malnutrition again He responded well to treatment but was later reffered to Siaya County reffereal hospital for further assesement Follow up and revisit was done. Prince Noel is current dong well.
Outcome
Malnutrition can stunt growth and development in children, leading to long-term physical and cognitive deficits. Severe malnutrition can lead to dysfunction of vital organs such as the heart, liver, and kidneys, which can be life-threatening. Malnutrition is typically treated by addressing both the immediate nutritional needs of the individual and the underlying causes of malnutrition.
