Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Nakowa Specialist Hospital Maiduguri

15 Lagos St, Maiduguri 600282, Borno, Nigeria

Background

Saleh, a five-year-old boy and the first child of his mother, attends an Islamic school in the evenings near their home and spends his spare time playing with friends. Despite consistently complaining to his mother about recurrent abdominal pains, he remained untreated until about a week later when the pain worsened, accompanied by painful urination and fever. Despite his mother's attempts to alleviate his discomfort with pain medications, his symptoms persisted until he was brought to Nakowa Hospital seeking assistance from Helpster.

Medical history

Saleh Mohammed, was diagnosed with multiple health issues, including mild dysentery, a urinary tract infection (UTI), a right undescended testis, and Malaria with Enteric Fever, at Nakowa Specialist Hospital. His condition left him weak and in pain, causing great concern for his family. The doctors immediately began treatment, addressing each illness with care and precision. Saleh was given medications for the dysentery, UTI, and malaria, and the hospital closely monitored his condition. Over time, his symptoms began to improve, and his strength returned. The doctors also planned further evaluation for his undescended testis to ensure long-term care. After several days of treatment, Saleh made a full recovery and living a happy filled life with his parent

Outcome

A UTI should be treated immediately, since it may spread onto kidneys, if left untreated. It will also keep causing pain and discomfort if the treatment is not received. Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences.
