Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Damaturu, Yobe State, 6 Gujba Road, Nigeria

Background

Mohammed is a two-year-old boy who resides with his parents in the IDP camp. He was in good health until five days before coming to the hospital, when he developed symptoms including cough, runny nose, fever, painful urination, and joint pains. Upon arrival at the hospital, he was examined and investigated. Diagnosis of Sickle Crisis and Malaria was made, and he requires urgent medical treatment.

Medical history

Mohammad Ibrahim Musa is a two-year old boy who was admitted to the emergency pediatric unit of the hospital on account of fever, general body pain and weakness. A diagnosis of Vasocclusive crisis and malaria complivated by acute respiratory tract infection was made from the clinical examination and laboratory investigations. He was admitted and placed on intravenous antibiotics, antimalarials, and analgesics. After three days of treatment, the child's condition improved significantly, and he was discharged home with oral medications. The parents were happy and grateful to Helpster Charity for the free medical care.

Outcome

If the condition is not treated, the pain associated with a sickle cell crisis can become more severe and prolonged, significantly affecting a person's quality of life. Reduced blood flow and oxygen supply to organs can result in damage to vital organs, including the spleen, liver, kidneys, and lungs. Individuals with sickle cell disease are more susceptible to infections, and a crisis can weaken the immune system, making them even more vulnerable to infections. In some cases, the blockage of blood vessels can lead to a stroke, which can cause lasting neurological damage. Treatment for a sickle cell crisis involves pain management,In some cases, blood transfusions may be necessary to replace sickled red blood cells with healthy ones and improve oxygen delivery.
