Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

YOBE STATE SPECIALIST HOSPITAL DAMATURU

Damaturu, Yobe State, 6 Gujba Road, Nigeria

Background

Zainab is a 13-year-old girl living with her parents and relatives in a dilapidated house. She enjoys playing football and dreams of becoming a teacher. About three months prior to presenting at our facility, Zainab developed a fever and abdominal pain. Upon examination and investigation, she was diagnosed with acute appendicitis. She requires urgent medical treatment.

Medical history

Zainab is a 13-year-old girl who presented with fever and abdominal pain. Diagnosis of acute appendicitis was made, and she was admitted for surgery. Surgery was done successfully and intravenous antibiotics given, after some days she improved significantly and was discharged home. The girl and her parents were grateful to Helpster Charity.

Outcome

If appendicitis is not treated, it can lead to serious complications, the most severe being a ruptured appendix. When the appendix ruptures, it releases bacteria into the abdomen, potentially leading to a serious infection called peritonitis, which can be life-threatening. An abscess, which is a pocket of infection, may also form.Treatment for appendicitis usually involves surgery to remove the appendix, a procedure known as an appendectomy.
