Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Amina, a two-year-old baby and the baby was brought to the SCBU on account of failure to cry at birth, difficulty in breathing, and bluish discoloration of extremities. Pregnancy was spontaneously conceived and unplanned but desired and said to have carried to term. The mother was said to have been regular with her antennal visits and medication. The mother is said to have prolonged obstructed labor and delivered via SVD. APGAR Score could not be ascertained as the delivery was not conducted in this facility. A diagnosis of Severe Perinatal Asphyxia was made. The baby is now resuscitated and placed on intranasal oxygen.
Medical history
Baby Amina was diagnosed with Severe Birth Asphyxia following birth as there was no spontaneous breathing or cry and was admitted into the Special care unit. At the time of diagnosis, the baby had bluish discolorations of the extremities and lips due to poor Oxygen supply. She was nursed at the special unit for 9 days, given Oxygen, IV Antibiotics, IF Fluids, and had series of investigations. She was discharged home when the clinical conditions improved. Parents expressed their joy for receiving the necessary care free.
Outcome
The baby need hospitalization for intranasal oxygen, prophylactic IV antibiotic, glucose management, prevention of seizure. blood glucose monitoring, oxygen saturation, blood gases, PCV are essential for this baby. The condition is life-threatening, however, with urgent necessary intervention, it's curable.
