Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

YOBE STATE SPECIALIST HOSPITAL DAMATURU

Damaturu, Yobe State, 6 Gujba Road, Nigeria

Background

The child is usually in motion, especially when she is not hungry; she always smiles and interacts with family members. She was well until about 3 hours before presentation when she sustained scald burns involving the trunk, right lower limb, and genitals. There was no associated loss of consciousness, no difficulty in breathing, and no injury to any other body part. Now, the child is presented to A&E for proper treatment.

Medical history

Zaulaihat presented with hot water burns involving the trunk and upper extremity. She was admitted for wound care and fluid management she was on daily wound dressing for the first 72hours then converted to alternate daily dressing. She was given IV antibiotics and oral medications. She was discharged two weeks after admission on account of burns improvement. Zulaihat had received her full prescribed medications and has been cured

Outcome

She needs admission as her condition requires wound dressing, fluid management, pain management and infection control. Injured skin will heal completely with early and good wound dressing, contracture is also avoidable with early physiotherapy care.
