Brian, a lively one-year-old boy, lives with his grandparents in a rural area. At first, he showed signs of poor appetite and a fever, but his family was unable to afford medical treatment. As his condition worsened, they sought help at a nearby health facility. However, without the means to pay for treatment, they were referred to a Helpster volunteer for assistance. That’s when we stepped in to support them. During the doctor’s review, Brian presented with a cough, diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and loss of appetite. After physical examination, the doctor ordered several lab tests, including a Complete Blood Count (CBC) and Blood Smear for Malaria Parasites (Bs for MPs). The results confirmed that Brian had malaria, while the other tests came back negative. The doctor diagnosed him with malaria, an upper respiratory tract infection, and malnutrition, and treatment was initiated immediately.

Brian was diagnosed with malnutrition, malaria and upper respiratory tract infection and was admitted for inpatient care,he was there for four days in the ward.Brian was given anti -malarial medications, antibiotics hydrating fluids and had been reviewed by hospital nutritionist.Brian is now active as usual feeds well plays around and also is being taken good care by his parents to avoid repeated mistakes.Brians mum said "am so grateful for the best Helpster charity organization did to save his son who was seriously ill am also happy for Bokoli sub county hospital team for them enhance better services to my son may almighty God be with you ".

The prognosis is good Brian was diagnosed well and early enough and the treatment commenced immediately after the diagnosis and if the condition could have not been treated early it could have resulted to organ damage and death
