Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Background

Joseph's father is a farmer who earns 1,200 shillings per month from selling vegetables. The family is able to have one meal a day, and they must walk a long distance to access clean water. He was brought to the hospital after he begun vomiting persistently, had hotness of body, a cough and was also passing loose stool. He was very dehydrated since he was vomiting anything he feeds on, coupled with the diarrhoea.. His mother tried giving him medication available at home, but his condition did not improve. After evaluation, he was diagnosed with severe pneumonia and diarrhea and was admitted for inpatient care.

Medical history

Joseph was diagnosed with pneumonia and malaria later was admitted for inpatient care stayed for three days and on his discharge he was stable and active and making phone call follow up his mother was happy and this is her message on Helpster." Outcome

He was treated with required medications and if the condition could not have been treated severe pneumonia can be deadly especially in children. Pneumonia and diarrhea are leading causes of death in children under five years old.
