Kafayat M., 8

Kafayat is an 8-year-old girl from a poor home in Bauchi. She is currently in junior secondary school and dreams of becoming a successful career woman. Despite her humble beginnings, Kafayat is full of hope, determination, and a strong belief that her future will be bright. After a long day at school, Kafayat felt a terrible headache and weakness in her body. By night, she was burning with fever, shivering under her blanket, and her stomach ached badly. Kafayat was brought to the clinic with high fever and general body weakness. The prognosis for both malaria and enteric fever (typhoid fever) is generally good with prompt and effective treatment. However, untreated malaria can be fatal, especially in severe cases, and untreated enteric fever can lead to serious complications.
