Branton T., 7

Branton is a bright and ambitious 7-year-old boy in Grade 2 at a rural primary school. He dreams of becoming a doctor one day and enjoys playing football. He lives with his parents in his paternal family’s compound, which is shared by three other households. They all use a communal bathroom and pit latrine. The family fetches water from a stream during the rainy season - located about 30 minutes away from their home - and during the dry season, they either buy water or rely on neighboring households with wells. Branton is a known sickle cell patient. He had been unwell for a day, experiencing dizziness and headaches. Due to financial constraints, his family couldn’t afford medication. With no other option, the local chief intervened and referred them to a health facility.

Branton is a known sickle cell client came to the facility with severe pain fever she was treated and discharged later when she was stable and were happy .Branton is now back to his usual activities: he goes to school in the morning, and spends most of his time in the afternoon with the animals the family owns. After the received treatment, he likes to run around the village

Prognosis of the acute illness is good since the malaria and anaemia were diagnosed early enough
