Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Hassana is a 3-years-old girl from poor home. Her father died one year back. Hussana who is joyful and have dream to become businesswoman so that he can assist poor kids just like the way Helpster charity is making alot of sacrifice for the poor kids. She was brought to our health facility with the Complains of para-Umbilical bulge lingering for about 6(six) months. There is intermittent pain at the periumbilicus. However, the pain subsides after taking painkiller.

Medical history

Hassana, a 3-year-old female, presented with a 4-month history of umbilical bulge accompanied by pain. After thorough evaluation and investigation, she was diagnosed with umbilical hernia. She underwent successful hernial repair surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of her condition, she was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care. Hassana recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, she is doing well, has fully recovered, and has resumed her regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team.

Outcome

Without intervention, the hernia may continue to grow in size, causing increased discomfort, pain, and a noticeable bulge at the umbilicus. In severe cases, the protruding tissue can become trapped or strangulated, which is a medical emergency. Strangulation occurs when the blood supply to the herniated tissue is compromised, leading to severe pain, nausea, vomiting, and possible tissue damage or necrosis. Prompt surgical repair is typically recommended for umbilical hernias to prevent these complications and ensure the safety and well-being of the affected individual.
